Cayce Police Chief Chris Cowan resigns after serving since Sept 2021, joining the University of South Carolina's Joseph F. Rice School of Law. Under his tenure, Cayce saw pay increases for officers, tech upgrades, decreased crime rates & a new police department status. An interim chief will be announced later. Mayor Elise Partin and Cayce Mayor Pro Tem Tim James praised Cowan's contributions.
