Business confidence in NZ is declining, as shown by NZIER's Quarterly Survey of Business Opinion and the BNZ-BusinessNZ Performance of Manufacturing Index. The manufacturing sector has been in contraction for 15 months. Taxpayers' Union Executive Director, Jordan Williams, suggests that reducing the country's high company tax rate could stimulate business growth, investment, and employment to help New Zealand recover from recession.
