An Bord Pleanála denied planning permission for a wind farm development in north Cork to protect the habitat of the whooper swan. The project, proposed by Annagh Wind Farm Ltd, sought approval for six wind turbines near Charleville. The decision follows the refusal of two other proposed wind farms in Co Cork in the past two months, citing impacts on high value landscapes and conservation interests.
