22-year-old Xavier Dorcely, posing as a UCF student-athlete, was arrested for a rent money scam, swindling people on campus since October 2023. Dorcely approached multiple victims, asking for help with rent or bills and promising to pay back the next day, which he never did. UCF police used surveillance footage and license plate readers to identify and build a case against him over several months.
