47-year-old Nicholas Muckian appeared in Dundalk District Court charged with the murder of 81-year-old Pat Muckian; he was initially charged with assaulting three women and unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet. The new murder charge could lead to the withdrawal of the Section 3 assault charge. A book of evidence is expected to be served within a month, and Muckian remains in custody.
