7-year-old girl drowns in Gods Lake, Manitoba: A tragic drowning incident occurred in northern Manitoba's Gods Lake on June 30, involving a 7-year-old girl. She was swimming with a group of children aged 5-12 when she went underwater. Other children alerted an adult who rescued her and administered first aid, but she was later declared dead at a nearby nursing station. The incident is currently being investigated by the Gods Lake Narrows RCMP.
