Toronto Maple Leafs form ECHL affiliation with Cincinnati Cyclones, replacing Newfoundland Growlers.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have agreed to an affiliation with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones starting next season, replacing the Newfoundland Growlers. The Cyclones, founded in 1990, have previously been affiliated with the New York Rangers and have won two Kelly Cups as ECHL champions. The Maple Leafs' previous ECHL affiliations include teams from Orlando, Fla., Reading, Penn., Columbia, S.C., and Pensacola, Fla.
