Selma Assistant Police Chief Natasha Fowlkes resigned despite being cleared of undisclosed allegations of illegal activity in an internal investigation. After the Dallas County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney Robert Turner concluded that the allegations were not a criminal offense, Fowlkes chose to step down to benefit both the city and her family. Mayor James Perkins accepted her resignation.
