2021 "Rust" film producers denied $1.6M New Mexico tax incentives amid Alec Baldwin manslaughter trial.
Producers of the western film "Rust," in which actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021, have been denied New Mexico tax incentives worth up to $1.6 million. The application by Rust Movie Productions was rejected by New Mexico tax authorities in April. The producers must now appeal the decision by a late July deadline, while Baldwin awaits trial on an involuntary manslaughter charge in Hutchins' death.
