Rivers United FC appoints former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, as their new head coach. George, 54, takes over from Stanley Eguma, sacked at the end of last season. The former Ajax winger managed nine-time NPFL champions Enyimba for three years and helped them secure the title in the 2022/23 season. Rivers United aims to improve their performance under George's guidance after finishing eighth in the NPFL last season.
