2024 Q1 Kenyan economy slows to 5% growth, construction and transportation sectors decline, agriculture grows 6.1%.

The Kenyan economy slowed to 5% growth in the first quarter of 2024, down from 5.5% in the first quarter of 2023. The construction and transportation & storage sectors contributed to the slowdown, with growth in construction dropping to 0.1% and transportation & storage at 3.8%. Agriculture, the country's mainstay, grew by 6.1%, largely due to favorable weather conditions and government interventions.
