Ghana's Supreme Court sets July 17 to rule on lawsuits challenging the anti-LGBTQ+ bill's constitutionality.

Ghana's Supreme Court has set a date of July 17 to rule on two lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the recently passed anti-LGBTQ+ bill. Lawsuits were filed by broadcast journalist Richard Dela Sky and researcher Dr. Amanda Odoi, who argue that the bill breaches provisions of the 1992 Constitution and violates fundamental human rights. The Supreme Court's ruling will determine whether the bill will be transmitted to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his assent.
