A firefighter rescued a young girl from a burning building in Everett, Massachusetts, after a pair of public works employees spotted smoke and smelling it, called in the fire, and helped evacuate residents. Both the child and firefighter were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The fire, which broke out around 8 a.m., prompted a massive response from Malden, Chelsea, and Everett firefighters.
