Yangtze River water levels in China exceed warning mark due to heavy rain, expected to gradually fall.
Water levels in China's longest river, the Yangtze, have exceeded the warning mark in the middle and lower reaches below Dongting Lake's estuary, according to the Ministry of Water Resources. The water level at the Yangtze Hankou monitoring station reached 27.31 meters, just 0.01 meters above the alert mark. Heavy rains in the region have led to this increase, but the water levels are expected to gradually fall after Friday.
