Washington State's Department of Ecology fined Home Depot $1.6M for selling banned hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) products, including R-134a canisters, in violation of state law regulations. Home Depot has 30 days to appeal the fine. The sale of these products has been prohibited due to their substantial contribution to climate change and significant global warming potential.
