New Zealand's government is addressing the long wait times for driver license tests by implementing changes to the licensing system. Since removing re-sit fees for theory and practical tests last year, demand for bookings surged, resulting in unacceptable delays of over 60 days in some areas. To reduce these delays, the government will now limit eligibility for free test re-sits and no longer offer free re-sits for overseas licence conversions.
