Montreal Canadiens sign forward Alex Barré-Boulet to a one-year, one-way contract for $775,000. The 27-year-old, from Montmagny, Que., scored six goals and three assists in 36 NHL games with Tampa Bay Lightning last season, and registered 19 points in 23 games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Barré-Boulet has a total of 12 goals and six assists in 68 career NHL games.
