Massachusetts State Police Trooper Michael Proctor has been relieved of duty and transferred out of the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office State Police Detective's Unit after a mistrial in the Karen Read case. Proctor, the lead investigator, came under fire for unprofessional text messages he sent about Read, which were read aloud in court. The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office plans to re-try the case.
