China's homegrown ARJ21 regional jetliner launched its first high-plateau air route on 2 July, connecting Kashgar Laining International Airport in southern Xinjiang with the Khunjerab airport in Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, located at 3,258 meters above sea level. This marks the first high-plateau airport in Xinjiang. Chengdu Airlines, based in Sichuan Province, deployed the ARJ21 due to its excellent performance.
