13 fishermen rescued from Brahmaputra River island by IAF Mi-17 IV helicopter during Assam floods.

13 stranded fishermen were rescued by the Indian Air Force (IAF) from an island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam, due to rising floodwaters. The fishermen were rescued by a Mi-17 IV helicopter that flew in challenging weather conditions. Previous rescue attempts by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Inland Water Transport boats were unsuccessful due to water levels and strong currents. Assam has been experiencing critical floods, affecting over 19 districts and impacting over 6.5 lakh people.
