Police responded to a reported fight at a homeless shelter in Crookston, Minnesota and fatally shot a man. Officers arrived at the Care and Share homeless shelter around 11:46 p.m. on June 30 and found a man being combative towards them and not following verbal commands. An officer fired their handgun, striking the man who later died despite life-saving efforts. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is currently investigating the incident, with no current threat to public safety.
