Baltimore has unveiled two newly acquired hotels, the Holiday Inn Express and Sleep Inn & Suites, as temporary shelters for homeless individuals as part of its $18.4M initiative. Mayor Brandon Scott, federal, state, and city leaders, and advocates participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. This marks the first time such a project has been undertaken in Baltimore, aiming to address the issue of homelessness and housing insecurity.
