78-year-old Shen Wenrong, founder of China's largest non-state owned steelmaker, Jiangsu Shagang Group, passed away. Starting from a small workshop, Shen grew the company into the world's 6th largest steel producer with 40.5M tons produced in 2020. Under his leadership, Shagang expanded into banking, logistics, and property sectors and weathered China's real estate boom, though facing challenges with slowing economic growth and a property crisis.
