29-year-old marine scientist, Wednesday Davis, tragically passed away in a climbing accident on Mt Ruapehu, New Zealand. Davis, who graduated with a Master of Science degree in Marine Science from the University of Auckland in 2022, joined the School of Biological Sciences' technical team as a marine technician. She was also the leader of the university's Marine Sciences Society and had been building her experience at sea with the research vessel Ika.
