24-year-old Eritrean cyclist Biniam Girmay became the first Black African rider to win a stage in the Tour de France.

Eritrean cyclist Biniam Girmay made history as the first Black African rider to win a stage in the Tour de France, sprinting to victory in the third stage of the prestigious cycling event. Girmay, 24, thanked God for giving him the strength and support and expressed his pride in representing Africa. His win came on the longest stage of the race, spanning 230.8 kilometers between Piacenza and Turin.
