47-year-old Dublin woman pleads not guilty to murdering her mother by reason of insanity.
A woman in Dublin has pleaded not guilty to murdering her 76-year-old mother by reason of insanity. Moire Bergin, 47, is charged with murdering her elderly mother, Mary Bergin, in their home in Dublin on April 13th, 2022. Arraigned before the Central Criminal Court, Bergin stated her plea as "not guilty by reason of insanity". The judge presiding over the case noted that the main issue to be determined by the jury would be the state of mind of Bergin at the time of the incident.
