17-year-old Chinese badminton player Zhang Zhijie collapsed and died during a match against Japan at the Asian Junior Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The tournament's medical team and an ambulance were on the scene, but efforts to resuscitate him failed. Badminton Asia, PBSI, and the organizing committee expressed their deepest condolences to Zhang's family and the Chinese Badminton Association.
