66-year-old Barry Nelson from Long Island's Brentwood area lost his left hand and three fingers on his right hand in a firework explosion on Eastern Avenue, Saturday night around 9 p.m. He was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition. The Suffolk County Police Department is investigating the incident, and certain fireworks are illegal in New York.
