Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp, the longest-serving chancellor in the institution's history, announced his retirement for June 2025. Under Sharp's leadership, the university system has expanded its infrastructure with $11bn in projects, enhanced its athletics program, and advanced research initiatives. The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents will initiate a national search for Sharp's successor in the coming months.
