Shepard Park amphitheater in Lake George was destroyed by a fire, just days before the Fourth of July holiday. The cause remains unknown and under investigation. Lake George Mayor Ray Perry is working on finding a replacement for the amphitheater and coordinating summer events. A mobile stage might be brought in if deemed safe. Demolition of the remaining structure is planned, and insurance and event coordinators will be consulted.
