For the first time, Punjab's litchis from districts Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur are exported to Britain. Covering 3,250 hectares, the production of litchis amounts to 13,000 metric tonnes annually, with a favorable climate resulting in deep red, sweet litchis. Through government initiatives, litchi growers can benefit from export profits, while efforts will be made to export other horticultural crops in the future.
