The Philippines' National Capital Region-Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board has approved a P35 daily increase in minimum wage for non-agricultural workers, raising it to P654 from P610, effective after 15 days. In agriculture, service, retail, and manufacturing sectors with fewer than 10 or 15 employees, wages will rise from P573 to P608. The increase was based on three petitions filed by labor groups amid rising prices of basic goods. The order will take effect on July 17, 2024, following consultations and public hearings.
