New Mexico Army National Guard rescued 4 elderly residents from Ruidoso on Saturday amidst floods, then helped at least 45 more on Sunday following a major flash flood. The 920th Engineer Company used heavy machinery to assist in evacuations. Residents were moved after floodwaters reached up to 6 feet in some areas. Major General Miguel Aguilar praised his soldiers' actions and training.
