Major General VT Mathew takes over as General Officer Commanding (GOC) for the Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, succeeding Major General Ravi Murugan, who completed 37 years of service. Mathew, an alumnus of Sainik School Kazakkotam, NDA, and IMA, has a 35-year distinguished service record, including UN peacekeeping roles in Congo and Sudan. Previously, he served as Major General Staff (Doctrine) at the HQ Army Training Command.
