Louisville approves $68,000 contract for Shield Environmental Associates to investigate & clean up the "Gully of the Drums" toxic waste site in Jefferson Memorial Forest. The site, linked to the infamous "Valley of the Drums," contains 40-45 drums and contaminated soil, neglected by federal, state, and local agencies since the 1980s. Environmental consultants will dig trenches and collect soil samples this summer.
