Kiwifruit industry experiences growth as orchard and licence prices decrease; however, high costs and knowledge gaps pose challenges for new entrants. NZKGI collaborates with other industry bodies to assist growers in upskilling and speaks with banks on rural lending. Zespri reports 250ha of SunGold kiwifruit licence auctioned last month, compared to 348ha in May, with prices falling from $700k to $424k per hectare.
