The Cleveland Guardians have activated RHP Gavin Williams from the 60-day injured list and optioned struggling right-hander Triston McKenzie to Triple-A Columbus. Williams, 24, had been sidelined with a right elbow strain since spring training. The Guardians designated RHP Darren McCaughan for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Williams, a first-round pick in 2021.
