Chinese woman, Wan Yee Ng, was arrested near Lake Wallace, Vermont, for attempting to smuggle 29 eastern box turtles, a protected species, into Canada via kayak. The turtles were found in her duffle bag and are worth up to $1,000 each on the Chinese black market. Ng faces charges for attempting to export the turtles in violation of the Endangered Species Act and is being detained.
