Chinese social media companies condemn online hate speech targeting Japanese after a knife attack.
China's top social media companies, including WeChat-owner Tencent, TikTok's ByteDance-owned Douyin, Weibo and NetEase, have condemned online hate speech targeting Japanese following a knife attack that killed one person and injured a Japanese mother and child. The companies vowed to combat remarks that incite confrontation between China and Japan and stir up radical nationalism.
