Australian job ads decreased for the fifth month in a row in June, with a 7.1% drop from Q2 2021 to Q2 2022 and a 2.2% decline in June compared to May. Despite this, job ads are 17.8% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Lower demand for cleaners, tradespeople, and food service workers contributed to the decline. The Reserve Bank of Australia expects the labour market to soften as it raises interest rates to control inflation.
