Armenian PM Pashinyan reaffirms Armenia's readiness to be close to EU, opposes referendum on accession.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has reiterated that Armenia is ready to be as close to the European Union (EU) as the latter considers it possible, but stated there is no need for a referendum on the country's accession to the EU. Speaking at the Armenian Forum for Democracy, Pashinyan argued that a referendum would only lead to further questions, including about the EU's willingness to accept Armenia.
