350-acre Riley Fire near Denali National Park prompts park employee housing evacuations.
A wildfire near Denali National Park and Preserve entrance has rapidly grown, covering at least 350 acres, and has prompted evacuations of park employee housing. The Riley Fire started in an area of black spruce near the Alaska Railroad, west across the Nenana River from Mile 239 of the Parks Highway. The fire is not immediately threatening any structures but has forced evacuations.
