100 TISS staff contracts not renewed due to Tata Trust funding shortage, effective June 30.
100 teaching and non-teaching staff at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) campuses across India were informed their contracts will not be renewed, ending their services on June 30. The TISS administration sent termination letters, citing a shortage of funds from the Tata Trust. The Progressive Students' Forum of TISS accused the current TISS administration and BJP-led Union government of failure and apathy.
