Michigan Flywheelers Museum progresses on new railroad; 2,000 feet track laid, aiming for 7,000 feet loop and public rides.
Michigan Flywheelers Museum in South Haven is progressing on its new railroad. Since taking ownership of a former House of David steam-powered locomotive last year, they've laid 2,000 feet of track, aiming for 7,000 feet for a loop and public rides. Volunteers work each Saturday to cut, drill, stack, and band ties, with a focus on installing the track to ASTM standard and adhering to state licensing requirements.
