Mandan woman, Sabrina Kraus, accused of attempting to murder her neighbor with sewing shears, was committed to the State Hospital for a maximum of 15 years on June 25, instead of facing a criminal trial. The commitment was agreed upon by Kraus' and Morton County's attorneys, who cited Kraus' mental health disorder. Kraus was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, tampering with evidence, and preventing arrest. Her commitment includes credit for the 416 days spent in custody or at the State Hospital prior to the hearing.
