Lambeth Council in London repaid £1.5m to 136 leaseholders who signed confidentiality clauses over poor work on their homes. The council had used NDAs to silence leaseholders during disputes over property repairs and maintenance. Lambeth Council is now reviewing its use of such agreements, after facing criticism for trying to hide poor contract management and protect contractors from accountability.
