Kiama Municipal Council denies spending $20k to restore a bulldozed forest in Minnamurra. They received $20k from the state government & contributed $20k for weed management & restoration around the waste facility. The work aims to protect coastal wetlands, not the endangered Bangalay Sand Forest. The council also clarified that they oppose the sand mine expansion & its responsibility lies with Boral & NSW EPA.
