Iowa restaurant Sugapeach Chicken & Fish Fry, which helped teens like Amari Thigpen develop work skills and responsibility, has been fined $65,000 for violating federal child labor protections. The restaurant allowed 14- and 15-year-olds to work longer hours than permitted, owner Chad Simmons said he was only trying to help the community. The fines could force the restaurant to close.
