India's Steel Ministry and Ministry of Commerce are discussing ways to curb increased cheap Chinese imports of steel. India has turned into a net steel importer, with finished steel imports reaching a five-year high in April and May. The Steel Ministry has alerted the Commerce Ministry and is considering a probe into imports from Vietnam, where a significant portion of low-cost Chinese imports may be routed.
