The Cleveland Guardians have signed free agent left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd, recovering from Tommy John surgery, to a major league contract for the remainder of the season. Boyd will join the team in August, providing pitching depth for the AL Central leaders. The Guardians are also expecting a boost from right-handed pitcher Gavin Williams, recovering from an elbow injury.
